• Now that I have my theme up and running here, thanks to the forums, two new questions arise.

I tend to write long posts. I would like to abbreviate them on the front page, and send the reader who is interested to a new one. I note that in the regular tags I use for writing and editing, there is a “more” tag. Would entering it do the trick? What is the name of the continuation page in my files? Is there a plugin that does this better than, or instead of, “more?”

    TIA

  • If you insert the “more” tag the text will break at that point and clicking on “more” will take the reader to the single post view (usually the single.php – if exist.)
You don’t really have to do anything special with that tag – just insert it, and WP will do the rest.

Thanks. I had made so many changes so fast that I got into being afraid to try any more, once the big things were done. So now that I know that’s what more does, I’ll use it right away.
