• How long is a visit / visitor considered a single instance? We’re seeing grossly different results vs GA on our visitor count (almost 50% higher on this plugin vs GA), and trying to figure out where the discrepancies are coming from.

A visit is typically considered to be a series of page views that occur within a 24-hour period. This means that if a visitor visits your website and then leaves, but then returns within 24 hours, their visit will be counted as a single visit. Otherwise, it will be counted as two separate visits.

There are a few reasons why you might be seeing different visitor counts in your plugin and in Google Analytics. One possibility is that the plugin is counting visits differently than Google Analytics. Another possibility is bots and crawlers.

If you are able to figure out the reason for the discrepancies in your visitor counts, please let us know. We would be interested to learn more about this issue.
