• I have issues with legitimate users not being able to log into my forum at [ redundant link removed ]

What I have discovered is that it appears on my end that they are indeed logged in but they can only READ my forum posts but cannot reply and at the same time the main forum page keeps asking for their login credentials.

Also when I open a different browser and expect to see myself logged in I notice that it is asking for my login credentials which has never been the case before.

I have checked Anti-Spam by clean talk and other settings to see if they are being blocked by having my Moderators on the phone with me while I check. This is not the issue.

What I have discovered though is that if I click on CLEAR CACHE at the top of my logged in web panel and then delete cache right below it that will fix the issue. Unfortunately this is only temporary for a small amount of time. Then it happens to everyone all over again.

Also I noticed while my Moderators logged out officially and I even logged them out via USERS they still showed as logged IN from my perspective despite that.

Additionally this does not affect them going to other parts of the forum like their personal info or account information. It only affects them being blocked from making a forum post which is very important because that is where we offer customer support.

I contacted TMD my web host and this is what they had to say:

`We would like to inform you that we have thoroughly reviewed your request and can confirm that this issue is not related to the server’s configuration.

There are no errors displayed on the website or recorded to the error log of your website which could shed some light on the source of the issue and despite our best efforts, we were unable to resolve this issue.

Despite our willingness to assist you with this issue, it appears to be related to the code of the application, which is not our area of expertise.

We would advise you to contact them for further assistance on the matter as it is not a hosting-related issue.`

    Can you please help me?

first of all we need to be sure that it works with the cache plugins properly. have you ever used any cache plugin before?

I ran a different one for two years and I ran into trouble and my site host told me to ditch it for this one. I have been running this one for about a year with no issues. Honestly I am not even sure if this is the issue myself. So last night I was forced to do a rollback to the 13th because I cannot have my support forum down for so long as I will have too many unhappy campers. So far everything is working good and as expected. The only problem is that I see nothing that was undone in the last four days with my limited knowledge that would solve the problem and all I have to go on is what I reported above and what the Host told me.

as far as I see that you have already disabled wp fastest cache.
did you enable the “Logged-in Users” option when you were using wp fastest cache?

It appears as though Logged In Users was always enabled since i never changed the settings.

does your forum use the native wp login system?

    (@my7of9)

How do i know if it is a native wp login system?

    (@emrevona)

you need to contact the plugin support team. maybe it is necessary to exclude some cookies.

    (@my7of9)

I am more confused now. So can you direct me to how to contact.
I can only assume it is another place inside this wordpress support site?

    Thread Starter my7of9

    (@my7of9)

I tried googling what is meant by “native” wordpress login with nothing much to see. So if i am now guessing correctly and you are asking if I have customized or added some special wordpress login plugin the answer would be no.

That said I need direction if I am not guessing correctly.

Not sure if this is what you mean but I do have buddypress and I have bbpress.

Sorry, @my7of9 Why did you create a new duplicate topic for this problem? It got caught in the spam filter.

Do you need WordPress support, plugin support, bbPress support? I’m asking so I can direct you to the best place to post.

    (@my7of9)

I was told above to get support from WordPress plugin in the above info so that is what i am trying to do.
I do not know what else to do and I asked for direction.
I am guessing i need WordPress support which is why I posted in just WordPress support “fixing wordpress” with all the updated information. Trying to assume what they want me to do with what little feedback i got.
This is all really confusing and so far i am getting no specific direction from my web host other than to say you have a problem but it is not us.

I do not know if it helps but the only response i have received from one of my forum members who is also having trouble logging in or posting on my site gave a reply in today after seeing me desperate to solve the issue so i can offer support for all the PCBs that I sell on my site.

    He said:

I’m sure its a WordPress/CMS issue. for the past few years, i’ve all but refused to develop anything with a CMS for same reasons. first suspect is one of your plugins is handling the cache poorly.

Does that plus all of the information I have already provided above help with directing me?

Here is a link of a video replicating the issue.
    Maybe that helps @jdembowski
