• Hello,

from reading various manuals on the internet I found conflicting information on cookie consent banners.
I read that if my wordpress-website / shop does only use cookies that are necessary for it to function, I only need to inform about the cookies.
    Is that correct?

So far my web site does not offer any possibility to reject cookies.
My cookie banner just says “We use cookies. Check out our privacy policy.”
    Is this not suficcient?
What legal percautions are necessary in my case? I am based in Germany.

  • I’m sorry, but no one can give you legal advice or opinion here.

That’s against the forum rules, and you certainly shouldn’t be making important legal decisions based on random advice and opinion you read on the Internet.

    Please consult an attorney.

    Good reply, George. ??

Yes, for any serious legal matters for laws, regulations or compliance a support forum on the Internet is the last place to ask.

I am closing this topic to new replies. If you need WordPress support please feel free to start a new topic for WordPress, an add-on such as a plugin or theme or how to do something in WordPress.

But for legal topics? Not on this site please. The answers would range from very good (hopefully) to amazingly bad and just awful.
