Legacy Widgets not Working/ Out of Memory Error

  • Since the recent page builder update the attached widgets are no longer working. I did download the legacy widget pack, but the widgets only display as text with no styling.

    Also while trying to edit with page builder I quite frequently get a out of memory error and I loose everything on the page.

    Looking at my error logs shows:

    [04-Jan-2014 06:07:11 UTC] PHP Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 4980736) (tried to allocate 3840 bytes) in /home/justforw/public_html/wp-includes/general-template.php on line 498

    As well as errors on post.php, comment.php etc..

    Also note that the memory for this site is set at 256MB allowed.

    Any ideas?

    I am not 100% but it looks like they just updated the plugin to fix this issue. I checked the change log before updating and mentioned a problem like this and it being fixed. Can you try updating the plugin today?

    Still have the same issues as before the update.

    Still having the same issue seems to be standard with all my site origin plugins. Happens in page builder and now in price tables too.

    Hmm that is not good. they do have a support email address in which Greg gets back to you pretty darn quickly. Have you tried emailing him directly? I use both his Snapshot theme and page builder on a major multisite network I have and have had no issues with this.

    I’m not entirely sure what would be causing this memory problem. Were you also getting this issue with version 1.3.9, or is it only with 1.4.1? If 1.3.9 works properly for you, that’d be a huge help for me pin pointing the issue.

    Yes we were also getting the memory problem on 1.3.9. If I were to guess it would actually be a conflict somewhere in vantage and woocommerce, but I am not an expert. Let me know if you need to see more error logs.

    Any luck on the widgets/content disappearing?

    Content disappearing seems to be fixed with version 1.4.2 ??

    I also double checked that fatal error you were getting. From the looks of things, a total of 4980736 was allocated when the error triggered. This is ~5MB of memory. Can you double check with your hosts how much memory you have allocated to each PHP request. Your server might have 256 MB, but it’s possible PHP has been allocated a lower amount.

    Hey Greg, my server allows my site to pull from 300mb for each request. My host thinks this may be a problem between the plugins and the theme not executing/working together correctly, because the errors happen at the same time. My theme is Vantage premium running along side several plugins.
