• Hello,

I noticed that searching engines use to read first the content of the left sidebar and only after the rest of the blog…

for to avoid this problem and keep the left sidebar we used a plug in that allow to insert a description and keywords for each post. It works very well, but still our blog doesn’t have a very good position in Google.

If i seek for example “Ukraine” or “Ucraina” i can’t see at all our blog but a lot of other sites the majority of which are not truly connected to this topic (maybe this word appear only in one page)

With other words it works better, with some we are also at the very top of google but i guess only coz there are less sites on the topic.

Is it connected to the left sidebar issue? if yes how can i make google read first the post and not the sidebar?

(i have already made a sitemap and also a robots.txt)

    Our site is:
    https://www.ukrlandia.com.ua
    english version: https://en.ukrlandia.com.ua

    the robots is here:
    https://www.ukrlandia.com.ua/robots.txt

    Thank you!

Actually the spider bots read the page markup from the top down. So if your left sidebar lies above your post content in the markup, the sidebar will be indexed first. If, on the other hand, your left sidebar appears below your post content in the markup but is positioned left by CSS, the bots will index your post content first.

how can i make google read first the post and not the sidebar?

Place the sidebar call after The Loop in your theme files and then use CSS to float your post content right or absolutely position your sidebar on the left.

You might also want to look at optimising your post content generally.
