• This isn’t a comment about the software… although I wasn’t happy about how it worked…

What I was counting on… and waiting for was the LONG promised ‘update’ (now apparently this plug-in)!!!

If you look at the comments on they’re site, you clearly see MANY people asking about the update… and repeatedly being told that it was coming soon… and mentioning that new users would eligible for the update for 6 months.
    IT NEVER CAME!!!!!

I regret that I was misled… essentially contributing to the development, while getting NOTHING in return!!
The lack of documentation forces having to contact the developer (hand maintaining ongoing support.)

The LEAST the developer could have done… would’ve been to upgrade all of us!!! All his bad mouthing that has been done toward other developers… and the obvious focus of this developer is selling SUPPORT CONTRACTS! Based on this historic lack of integrity, I have little doubt that updates and features will be released slowly, so as to force contract renewal.

Unfortunate feelings to have, considering how hopeful I was for the product!!!!

  • If the comment isn’t about the software, why are you rating the plugin so badly?
It is also my understanding that users of the old directory theme were given the 6 months they were promised.
As for updates, i have seen several already and i know that the developers are actively supporting the product and providing stellar support to it’s users.
As for support contracts, i personally think it is a good way of providing a sustainable product. The product you are reviewing here is completely free, and upgrading to a paid version (or addons) is a common practice for developers which allows them to continue improving and supporting their products.

    Hello cbeaumont,

You are making a mockery of the www.remarpro.com review system, your review has nothing to do with the product. I won’t take the time to ask wp.org to remove it or a lawyer to sue you. I’ll leave it here so that everyone will know how silly your comments make you look.

#1 This is a new product and it has been updated 11 times since it’s release (84 days ago).

mentioning that new users would eligible for the update for 6 months. IT NEVER CAME!!!!!

We have emailed you twice to inform you that you were entitled to 6 months free, we pinned a post on the support forum telling users they were entitled and how to activate their account, what else could we have done apart from coming to your house and knocking on your door?! After reading this review which is unwarranted i thought i would try and call you to ask why you would leave such an untrue and horrible review, trying to find a contact number for you i noticed your email address website does not load and is infact pending deletion, this could be the reason you have not received our emails! (your fault not ours!). Then the website you list in your profile on our support forum is a christian website (lies and defamatory comments are not very christian) and has no contact details, even if i wanted to contact you personally there is no physical way for me to do that!

I am not even sure what product you are trying to badmouth here i will assume it is our other product as you said: “This isn’t a comment about the software”
Our other product has pages and pages of documentation and also 35 walk through support videos!!!
You have only ever had to post on our support forum 4 times, and only two of those were asking for help and were both answered quickly!!

All his bad mouthing that has been done toward other developers…

I actually have no idea what you mean here, i would not say anything untrue or unwarranted about anyone!

Based on this historic lack of integrity

I am not sure you know the meaning of the word “integrity” but your comments show you have none.

If you do have any sort of integrity you will realise that your comments are wrong and remove them, if not they will remain here for people to see that you don’t.

I very seldom post any reviews (read many, however) but I feel obligated to respond to this one.

Like many, I researched and tested many directory type themes and decided on GeoTheme, and I have been extremely impressed with the support I have been receiving. Communications were always stellar and updates were frequent.

All GeoTheme customers were given 6 months free of the new WPDirectory plugin PLUS ALL THE ADD-ONs! For my own case, through my own fault I missed my deadline to renew my support contract. I realized what happened few weeks later and told GeoTheme developers my regret. They then manually created a customized link so I could renew–thus allowing me my 6-mo free WPDirectory and all the add-ons.

I can’t recall feeling as appreciated as a customer from any others whom I do business with–in any industry.

If you want to talk integrity then you can point to Stiofan, Paolo and the rest of the Geodirectory crew as having it at the highest level.

They have been helpful and supportive to the community and they do what they say they are going to do, which is refreshing. Does it always go smoothly? No. Do they do the best they can to make it go smoothly? Absolutely.

Part of the problem from my experience using both Geotheme and GeoDirectory is that people underestimate the complexity of the software. But that’s what makes it so powerful. In all my years running WordPress sites I would easily say these developers are in the top 10 in support and development.

And all Geotheme members as was mentioned elsewhere received 6 months free on everything. Mine was implemented without a hitch. And this is the first time I have ever heard of somebody complaining that a plugin is being updated (meaning developed) too often.

Finally, I am happy they changed their support model to something more sustainable so that I know, as a businessperson that the software will be actively developed in the future.

    Well done I say.
