• I did a search via here and google but couldnt find what I was looking for, so it is the question

Is there a way to keep my posts/comments off the front page? I would rather have something that I can permanently keep on my main page and then my posts are only viewed when clicked on the categories/sections link. Is this possible? I mean, I am sure it is, but let me ask in a better way… is this EASY to create?

I am using an altered Kubrick template if it matters any

    Thanks

  • You can achieve these results by using Templates. But, I believe, last time I heard about this request, roboren chimed in with the notion of a frontpage.php which would automatically override if available in the themes directory.

Er…surely you could just rename the index.php file to something else (weblog.php, perhaps)? And then just have another, seperated page.

    Or am I misreading this…

No, I need the index.php there to have my blog up.

I want my blog the way it is. Except when people first come to my site, I would like something on the main page to always been there… (its an online newspaper for my small town)

So, if I update each section (entertainment, classifieds, news, ect) they all end up on the first page, but I want people to have to click the sections in order to see them

    For instance:

Main page looks like it currently does, but in comment area says something about if they want to submit any news they can do so by sending it to blah blah blah. And thats where I would announce any important info.

Isnt there anyway to just have say “Announcements” (or whatever I call it) be the only comments to show on the front page, while all others have to be opened via the categories link?
