Leaves a tag cloud, but not the correct one…

I’ve tried this with both the 2D widget, and a text widget with the shortcode and both display a tag cloud. But after trying for well over 2 hours with both, I could not get them to display with the settings I set up. It just seem to display whatever it wants, whenever it wants.

One setting, for example, is the number of tags to display. I have always set this number to a multiple of 10. So when I set it to 30, it displayed 39 tags, or 79, or 37. Never 30.

I’m quite confused…
