When I log into my website (king-trades.com) and I go to the homepage and click on the post titled ‘UNDER CONSTRUCTION’, I then move my cursor into the comment box to leave a reply and I receive this message: “You are commenting using your TradersHood account“. I’m not sure why it is using this account (TradersHood), I think Jetpack is using my old twitter account: https://twitter.com/TradersHood which doesn’t exist anymore my new twitter account is https://twitter.com/King_Trades. Also my url has recently changed from tradershood.net to now king-trades.com

    Please help, Thank you

PS: I will leave a screen shot of the message in the post ‘UNDER CONSTRUCTION’

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

Jetpack Comments uses your WordPress account data to prefill the form. In your dashboard, go to Users > My Profile, and you should be able to change your name there.

    I hope this helps.

WordPress doesn’t allow you to change usernames. You can, however, create a new WordPress admin account by going to Users > Add New. Once you have done so, log out and log back in using your new account, and delete your old account.

Thanks for your help! You can still change usernames if WordPress is self-hosted by another site and site must have cpanel or something similar. To change usernames, you must make edits in phpMyAdmins under wp_users.

However I did follow your instructions above and the error still existed with my Blog Account Name. I was able to fix the problem when I linked my wordpress.com blog with my self-hosted WordPress blog (https://kingtrades.wordpress.com + https://www.king-trades.com) while in My Profile. The option to link the two was suggested by a message that populated from the post by email link.

After the connection I was able to manage both blogs on wordpress.com and saw the old Blog Account Name and the current wordpress.com blog account name. I then moved the cursor between the WordPress logo and the following tab and clicked on my site title then clicked customize to change my wordpress.com blog Account/Site title. Then went to the my self-hosted wordpress blog and did the same thing. *Note: my self-hosted blog account/site title name was change multiple times before I linked the wordpress.com blog and the self-hosted WordPress blog. The linking of the two and re-editing fixed the glitch. Thanks!
