“Leave a Reply/Comment” Discussion attribute in custom post type not working

I have a page in English (my default language) where I can “Leave a Reply under Comment”. The Custom Post Type Discussion attribute is checked and allows for Comments. How is it that the related page in German is not showing that Discussion attribute and is not allowing for Comments?
