Learning WordPress

  • How long does it take to learn WordPress? I want to use WordPress as a CMS, but i know nothing about CMS. I don’t even know what to expect of a CMS.

    Also can i install WordPress on my computer to learn it or can i only host it on my webserver? I have Windows XP? What is the down side of installing it on my local computer?
