    Hello
I am relatively new at programming and wordpress (although I did develop one wordpress site). I have multiple medical journals that have RSS (XML) feeds. I want to have the feeds on a page only when a user selects the title of the medical journal. For example, I will have a list of medical journals on a page 1. New England Journal 2. Mayo Clinic Proceedings 3. Lancet, etc. When a user selects Mayo Clinic Proceedings, it will display the RSS Feeds of the articles on another page. How can I do that? Currently, I only have as links to the journals’ websites.
Also I tested having 4 journal RSS links into the RSS aggregator and used a shortcode to see how it works and all I got was “no news feeds”. Can you help me?

  • Hi Myo,

Can you please elaborate on this? Do you want to import the posts from the RSS Feed to your site and make them your own posts? Or do you want to create pages (i.e 3 pages) where each page contains the links from one (or several) RSS Feeds?

Also I tested having 4 journal RSS links into the RSS aggregator and used a shortcode to see how it works and all I got was “no news feeds”.

Have you tried to check your Feed Items list and make sure that all your Feed Sources have imported some feed items? If you have, can you please send us the link where you put the shortcode and also a screenshot of where do you put the shortcode in your WP-Admin?

Sorry about the delay in responding as I was out of town. Actually, I have more than 20 medical journals listed. When user selects a journal, it will display the feeds of that journal in a page (not post). Since there are more than 20 jopurnals I will need to place them on 20 pages. It also showed no feeds even though I placed the aggregator shortcode in the Text editor (not the visual section). I did check the feed items and they are feeding OK.
I tried to upload the screen shots but I don’t see any place here where I can upload the screenshots.

Here are two of the journals with current RSS feed for you to test. So I will have a page that lists more than 20 journals. And if I click one of the journals, for example, British Journal of Cancer, it should display all of British Journal of Cancer’s current RSS feeds in a separate page.

    Thank you,

    Hi Myo,

    Thanks for your additional explanation.

Yes, you would need to create 20 pages where each page will contain a shortcode to display your feed items per Feed Source (you can use the source parameter).

Then you can create a page which listed these 20 pages where each page is linked to the pages you have created before.

Have you done it that way? If you have, what kind of enhancement do you look for? Or is there any parts of your setup that aren’t working for you apart from the no news feed issue?

Now, with regards to your issue, can you please send us some of these screenshots:

    • the usage of your shortcode in one of your page
    • your Feed Sources list
    • your Feed Items list

www.remarpro.com Forum does not provide a way to upload screenshots, but you can send them in links as is explained in this guide.
