• Hi,
I’m using Polylang at the moment for the entire site. I’m trying to translate my Learndash courses.

I can have a Swedish course, duplicate it and make an English version. I can connect The English translation to the Swedish version and switch between the course pages. But the problem isn’t the course page but the lesson and subjects in the course.

When I click on the lesson that contains 3 subjects. I can no longer see the subjects listed beneath the lesson, the lesson appears empty (This happens when I’m logged in). If I use incognito mode and click on the lesson I, for some reason, end up on the archive page for all english courses.(?)

Same goes for When I click on the subjects, When i’m logged in I can simply just see one subject at a time. But if I’m not, I end up on the archive page…

polylang ads “/en” in the URL for the English translation, which I guess is messing up the course (?).

Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • I have the same problem. we have installed the new LearnDash multi language plugin and we already work with WooCommerce and the Polylang for WooCommerce plugin which then requires the Pro version of Polylang

Now LearnDash creates the course but the URL for the Lessons and Topics is generated without the word Lesson or Topic and clicking on the lesson or topic generates a page not found

We also have a message posted that the LearnDash pluging requires PolyLang but does not say it also workd with Polylang Pro (required when you use WooCommerce)

Now we are stuck and cant get multi-language working

Hi Nils, I had something a bit similar happen, which I resolved. In my case, what happens is that when you change the language of a course, subject or lesson, it can break the associations between the three items.

After changing the language, you should go to the Settings for the lesson or topic and check the associated course matches under Section Access Settings.

    Hope that helps!

@carlek I needed to use the “Language set from content” under the Polylang URL modifications settings to make it work for me. Don’t know if that solves your problem though?

I changed the permalinks and it worked. TY

Same issue here. Seems like Polylang is able to save permalink structure up to: courses/lessons…

Those (when nested is activated) work.

Then… courses/lessons/topic/ becomes /topic. This is a bug in Polylang!
If you need more clarification, let me know. This has to fixed in a future release because the whole course structure breaks…

workaround is to change permalink structure like pointed out above. But this is far from the ideal situation.

This is the problem I still have. LearnDash support were helpful and investigated my site but concluded there was no solution ie you can’t use Polylang and LearnDash for multi-lingual support!

I would like to see more about the workaround and know when polylang can fix this

Now LearnDash creates the course but the URL for the Lessons and Topics is generated without the word Lesson or Topic and clicking on the lesson or topic generates a page not found

Check your pages organisation, your default language has the pages and sub-pages already organised:
    Course/lesson-1
    Course/lesson-2
    Course/lesson-3

If you re not having the /course before the translated page is because you also need to create the translated Course page and then add the translated lesson in there.

    Course-ru/lesson-1-ru

    Hope it helps
