Just to clarify: the issue is that BNFW isn’t overriding the default WordPress comment notification when someone comments on a LearnDash Essay – is that correct?

Yes that is correct. I am able to send the custom notification I want, but indeed it still sends the default one and I tried several things to disable the default notification, but no luck so far.

Hmm. I don’t have LearnDash otherwise I’d test it properly myself.

Can you try and disable comments in code and see if the BNFW notification goes through instead? This might be a good starting point: https://wordpress.stackexchange.com/questions/150125/disabling-comment-notifications-for-post-author

Thanks for your reply. I tried the solutions in your link but no luck so far. I asked the support of Learndash if they know a way to disable that notification e-mail.

Not yet. The support of Learndash escalated it to their developer team.

I’m having the same issue with Learndash assignment comments. I’ve already written to LD support, waiting for reply.

@hton Learndash support is still looking into it and I also shared this support thread with them so they know more people are experiencing this issue.

I have received mail from Learndash and they asked me to place the following code in my functions.php file:

remove_action( ‘comment_post’, ‘learndash_notifications_assignment_essay_comment_left’, 10 );

It works for me! I received the BNFW mail now but not anymore the basic Essay Comment mail.
