Big fan of this plugin so far. I charge customers higher for leaderboard ads, assuming they are more visible and desirable than sidebar ads.

However, when I run side-by-side campaigns in both, the sidebar impressions are always much higher than leaderboard impressions. Is this correct?

It’s hard for customers to justify paying me more money for leaderboard again when I send them these stats.

Depends on the kind of advert you’re running. Some HTML5/Javascript adverts are not so easy to track. But they usually have their own tracking elsewhere.

Also, a sidebar is usually visible on every page. Leaderboard adverts often only show in specific locations (say, home page, or pages only).

And, if you show the same advert in multiple places, for example, place the sidebar advert elsewhere too. It will get more impressions. Likewise, if the group has less adverts to rotate the adverts will show more often compared to a group with more adverts to cycle.

So, are the stats correct? Likely. Both locations use the same counting mechanic and code. It doesn’t break for one location and work for the other.
If you want to counter that a bit – AdRotate Pro has a weight feature with which you could certain adverts an advantage over others in the same group/location.
