I can connect to the AD server anonymously. However I get the error: “Invalid service account credentials. Make sure you have entered correct Service Account DN and password.” when I try to test and save the service account.

I can see a successful login of the account in the security logs of the AD server so I am not sure what is causing this error. I have tried a number of different accounts and all give the same error. The plugin is the latest version running on WordPress 4.9.6 on Windows Server 2016 Datacenter

    Hi,

Do you have MFA enabled for the service account? Also, is there a policy on the account which requires the user to change the password on next login? If either of the above two is the case, then the connection can fail.

    Hi

Thank you for responding so quickly.

There is no MFA and the user does not have to change password.

    Marking this as resolved.

    Hi,

I have a similar problem. Connection to LDAP-Server works (Successfully contacted LDAP Server. Please configure your Service Account now.). But I get the error “Invalid service account credentials. Make sure you have entered correct Service Account DN and password.”, when I try to test the ldap-account and password. I have checked different types of usernames… [email protected], DN of the AD…

Can you post what the solution was? That would be very nice! Thank you!

    MK
