Lazy loading with CloudFlare

    Hi,

    It seems the lazy loading by SG Optimizer is not working, when site has free CloudFlare CDN active.

    In my view it’s unreasonable to activate $20/month CDN just for lazy loading, and still does not support webp image format. webp support would be $200/month, which is insane considering availability of ShortPixel Image Optimizer.

    So, can you please look into two aspects of the plugin;
    1) Enable lazy loading while using CloudFlare (and other CDNs)
    2) Create webp image version with Image Optimization
    – and include that with html picture tag (+srcset+type)

    The lazy load functionality has nothing to do with Cloudflare CDN in geneal. Please, check if you have some other optimizations they provide, however, since script combination, minification, etc. on the CDN’s side can affect things.

    We’re working on proper WebP support. Other plugins that do this rely on things like .htaccess rules, etc. which is far from optimal. Once we release it, our implementation will be seamless and as fast as possible. I belive we will manage to launch it in couple of weeks alongside some other cool stuff we’re working on.

    After checking on this again, it seems that lazy loading actually seems to be working, but https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/ reports that it does not, for mobile view! and only on mobile view, no complaint on the desktop view.

    I haven’t taken a look how the plugin treats different user agents, but this “non working” lazy load may be only affecting the said google testing tool? and only for the mobile view report.

    Excited to see the support for webp!

    Just wish to have unused CSS to be automatically removed as well.
