Last month when I installed Mediavine ads, they requested that .svg, .gif, and iframe media types be excluded from lazy load settings. Ever since I excluded these items, Smush says lazy loading is active, but my images are actually not being lazy loaded per PageSpeed Insights and Mediavine support. I’ve tried enabling native lazy loading but that did not work either. Link is to an example of a post – the issue is happening for my entire site.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @acook1123,

I hope you are doing well today!

It seems like you’re facing some issues with lazy loading because of exclusion rules set to cater for Mediavine ads. I can see “no-lazyload” class has been added to the images which seems to be the root cause.

Here are few steps you might consider to troubleshoot:

    1. Ensure that your current theme or other plugins aren’t interfering with Smush’s lazy-load function. You can do a plugin conflict test where you deactivate other plugins one by one to check if any are causing the issue.
    2. Sometimes, caching could be causing the issue. Clear your site cache if you have a caching/service performance plugin.
    3. It seems you’re using content delivery network (Stackpath CDN), this might interfere with lazy loading. Try to momentarily disable it and see if things change.
    4. Check the settings on Smush, make sure that the setting for lazy loading are properly configured for images. Then, in the exclusions, ensure .svg, .gif, iframe are still there.

Remember to always backup your site when performing these kind of troubleshoot tests.

    Kind regards,
    Zafer

Hi Zafer, thank you so much for the information. I wasn’t able to get the plugin to work so I had to switch to something else.
