Lazy Load not working well

    Hi,
    I’m using the free version of Smush and have enabled the lazy load option. Hummingbird test keeps telling me to ‘defer off screen images.’. Posts featured images are concerned.
    While I was testing the pluging, I added the class .wp-post-image in Classes & IDs box, but I’ve removed it, reset the plugin settings to default and even uninstall/reinstall the plugin and I’m still having the same issue.

    I hope you’re well today!

    It seems that you’re using Jetpack plugin and Astra theme on site. Could you please double-check and make sure that none of them have Lazy Load option enabled currently if the one in Smush is enabled?

    Please also check other plugins against that (e.g. if you’re using Autoptimize or similar one there might be additional “lazy load” option enabled).

    Once that’s done, please clear all caches on site (and server, if there is any cache there) and see if it starts to work.

    Update us here with results, please.

    Hi,
    very well thanks!
    Didn’t find any lazy load options in astra theme but I’ve uninstalled Jetpack and it’s ok now. Spinner or placeholder only displays on video and iframes, not on images, is it something normal? and a last small question, is Smush compatible with these plugins: WebP Converter for Media and Shift8 CDN ?

    That depends if the image is below or above the fold. If it’s above the fold, then it should be loaded instantly without a spinner.
    Do you have an example with an image below the fold for which this doesn’t work?

    Smush compatible with these plugins: WebP Converter for Media and Shift8 CDN ?

    Shift8 CDN shouldn’t be a problem as long as you are using free Smush version (without the CDN that Smush offers).
    As for the WebP Converter for Media – I’m not sure how this plugin converts images – are they served as WebP on the fly or they are permanently converted in media…? If that plugins works after Smush does its magick with compression then it shouldn’t be a problem (again as long you are not using Pro version with own CDN+WebP conversion).
