Lazy-load not working for gallery images

I posted the following in the Autoptimize forum:
“I enabled lazy loading in Autoptimize, and it is working for all images except for my product gallery images. How can I fix this issue?”

Their answer was:
“OK, found the reason; when applying lazyloading, AO adds a data-src attribute to the image to hold the URL of the to be lazyloaded image, but the WooCommerce gallery images already have a data-src attribute which AO should not override, hence AO has to skip those.”

Is this a known issue, and is there a workaround to lazy-load the gallery images?
