    Hi

I am experiencing some issues with image lazy loading on pages using a gallery.

The layout often gets broken on these pages, see: https://imgur.com/pG9TfOW

    Pages in question:

    https://www.dev.africa-experience.com/about-us/meet-the-guides/
    https://www.dev.africa-experience.com/about-us/meet-the-team/

Sometimes it happens on the pages themselves, other times only when navigating through the galleries using the links immediately above each gallery (below first H3 on page).

Is there a way to get lazy load working properly on these pages?

If not, is there any way that I can exclude lazy load from firing on these 2 pages?

I know I could exclude every single image on these pages using “exclude words” but some of those images are also used on other pages where they are not in a gallery, so I would much rather then just disable lazy load on these two pages (although a pity because it’s these kinds of pages where lazy load makes a lot of sense).

    Hello @gnuworld

I am sorry about the issue you are experiencing and I am happy to assist you with this.
Yes, I can see the mentioned issue on the provided pages.
There is no way at the moment to exclude specific pages so the only thing you can try is to either exclude the images or try going to Performance>User Experience and change the Script Embed method: to sync (to head) and make sure to save all settings and purge the cache.
Please let us know if this helps!
    Thanks!

    Thanks @vmarko

OK, I have changed the embed method to sync (to head), saved and purged the cache but the problem remains.

So I guess that leaves me with either excluding every single one of the images, which as stated I prefer not to do, or trying to find a different lazy load plugin.

    Hello @gnuworld

There is a potential compatibility issue with the plugin you are using or the theme.
Can you try excluding the 3 thumbnail images or possibly their class and see if that helps?
    Thanks!

    Hi @vmarko

The three small round thumbnails at the bottom of the pages?

OK, I have excluded those by both their class and image URLs, but the issue still remains. See: https://www.dev.africa-experience.com/about-us/meet-the-guides/

To be entirely sure I have also disabled the entire section that those images are in (it’s a theme element). But even then the issues still remain. See: https://www.dev.africa-experience.com/about-us/meet-the-team/

    Hello @gnuworld

    Thank you for the information.
Can you please try switching to default theme and see if the issue persists there? As I said possibly there is a conflict with the theme.
    Thanks!

    Hi @vmarko

Switching to default theme won’t tell us anything. The theme was custom built for this site and the page we are looking utilizes a page template that was custom built for it. If I disable/change the theme there’ll be nothing on the page. I did a live preview of the Twenty Nineteen theme and when I look at that page there’s no gallery on it at all.

    Hello @gnuworld

    Thank you for the information.
I’ve tried to replicate this. Created some pages with the Galery similar to your own. Enabled Lazy loading and I’ve experienced no issues of this kind.
SO possibly its a conflict with the theme you are using.
We cannot test with all the themes an especially not with custom-built themes so in this case there is a conflict with the way the theme was built.
    Thanks!

Hi @vmarko – OK, thanks for looking into it nonetheless.
