latest_series Shortcode not working right

  • I have tried everything. I believe the database may be corrupted. It will not pull the latest series. I tried multiple variations and switches w/ no joy.

    The sermon page seems to work properly – just won’t sort series and display latest_series on Home page in footer. Current shortcode is [latest_series image_class=”thumb” size=”medium” show_title=”false” show_desc=”false” orderby=”id”] but as I said – I tried every switch with no success

  • I just tried your shortcode on a page on our test site and a test page in our “live” site and your shortcode displayed fine.

    Looking at the SM Shortcode Knowledgebase here: https://wpforchurch.com/my/knowledgebase/75/Sermon-Manager-Shortcodes.html, there is no orderby.

    I take it you’re using the shortcode in a widget in your footer and your latest series should be “Being Established In Righteousness”?

    Correct – Being Established in Righteousness is the latest series. I can order them properly on the sermons page ([sermon_images order=”DESC” orderby=”id” size=”sermon_medium”]) – but the footer widget stopped working when I moved to another server (using latest_series). I think the SQL file may have gotten corrupted because that alone will not sort properly.

    I changed the short code without orderby with no success. BTW – I was trying every variation so that was probably fallout.

    NOTE: It ‘was’ working fine before the migration last yr. ?

    Might try to remove that widget, save it and then re-recreate it. Other than that, I don’t know what else to do.
