    Hi guys,

Huge fan of YOAST SEO, however the latest update has broken a theme functionality on my website. The theme is Gonzo which is a review template that allows you to add elements to be scored and then it calculates an average. However this aspect is not working but if I deactivate the theme, it’s back to normal.

Any ideas on why or how I can troubleshoot? I really don’t want to leave Yoast to something like Rank Math.

    cheers,
    Andrew

    Hello Andrew,

    Thanks for the kind words.

We suspect the issue is a conflict. Just to be sure, we would like to rule out any plugin or theme conflicts that may occur. The fastest way to do this is to?deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme?like?Twenty Nineteen.?

Test this on your development or staging site, if you have one. If not, we recommend using the?Health Check & Troubleshooting?plugin. This plugin allows you to run a conflict check?without affecting normal visitors to your site.

As we can imagine that you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process:?How to check for plugin conflicts.

    Hey Maybellyne,

I’ve followed your steps in turning the plug-ins off and unfortunately it all comes back to the YOAST SEO plug-in.

Comparing page source information between the page running the Yoast plug-in, there are differences.

Any other ideas as it was all running quite smoothly prior to the last update?

    cheers,
    Andrew

@abistak Can you please also confirm that your theme is using the most current version? The current version of the Gonzo theme is version 1.9.7.

If after ensuring that the theme is updated, and the issue is still occurring even when using only the Yoast SEO plugin and you’re theme active, we expect this to be a bug. We’re actively using the bug tracking on our GitHub repository so your best next step would be to create a new issue for our developers at https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/new. You will need an account to create a new issue. If this is your first bug report, please check out: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-to-write-a-good-bug-report/.
