  • Confirmed. BadgeOS is doing something to The Loop, and the comment form is getting the wrong comment_post_ID field. It always gets the oldest post ID, rather than the one being displayed. Deactivating all BadgeOS plugins is the only solution.

We have been investigating this issue, and have been experiencing some trouble attempting to replicate.

With BadgeOS 1.4.8.2 enabled, we have reviewed the following:

    1. Confirmed old comments are visible on existing posts
    2. Created new comments on existing posts
    3. Created new posts, and added new comments

In all of the above scenarios, our comments are being displayed. Do you have any other scenarios we are missing in our attempt to replicate this?

No, and it’s the last one that was my initial problem. You can even see the comment posting form, in HTML, with the wrong post ID. And the problem definitely was introduced in 1.4.8.2; my guess is that it’s doing something in interrupt The Loop, and so WordPress’s function to display the comment form no longer has the current post ID.

You’re welcome to email me at DonJ over at PowerShell.org; I can restore the plugin to our site if you’d like to observe the behavior, and probably even set up a “stage” site that you could fuss around with as Admin.

This is still an issue. I have 1.4.8.2 enabled as of 02/16/2017. My Post Titles and Post Comments ALL revert to the very first original post we ever did EXCEPT for the most recent post which works fine. This only occurs AFTER clicking through to the actual post page. The main page where the blog excerpts are work fine, showing the correct title/picture/excerpt content/etc but when I click in to view the full post the Title is our original first post title as well as 8 comments on said post from the original and not the more recent post.

Again, the MOST RECENT post is unaffected but all other posts do this.

Ok… I have confirmed that this only happens when I have my current theme active; HOWEVER, NO other plugin causes this issue with my current theme. If you aren’t going to support this anymore hand it off to someone else or at least tell us what’s causing this so we can fix it ourselves.

Hey guys, I feel your pain. I too am seeing comments messed up when badgeos is activated.

    * The most recent post is just fine, but…

    * All other posts display the comments for the post with the lowest ID. This includes a comment form also coded to submit comments for that lowest ID.

    * The Prev/Next links are also messed up, being replaced with no Prev, and the Next link always going to the post with the lowest ID.

BTW, reverting to version 1.4.8.1 solved all the problems.

Thank you for the suggested workaround since it appears the developer has disappeared.
