Latest upgrade (4.2) auto-adds trailing slash?

    I just upgraded from 4.1 to 4.2 today and noticed all my landing pages broke.

    I go into to Redirect Menu / Quick Redirects and notice all of the landing pages now have a trailing slash.

    so, https://domain.com/gohere doesn’t work any more
    but https://domain.com/gohere/ does

    Even if I go in and correct them, Quick Redirects seems to think better of my changes and re-appends the trailing slash.

    now, I don’t care if there’s a trailing slash in the config, but I darned well expected my redirects to work with or without the slash. None of my users / viewers are going to know to append a slash to a URL that I send out.

    Anyone else seeing this? Is downgrade the only quick fix?

    Sorry – let me clarify the versions. It’s not a 4.1 to 4.2 problem, it’s a 3.2.3 –> 4.x problem. I had to downgrade all the way to 3.2.3 in order to get my landing pages to work without the trailing slash.

    Maybe I missed something in the major 4.x upgrade (I just did a stream of plugin upgrades — I know I know, BAD). Did the release notes specify that landing page words have to have a trailing slash?

    This seems like a bug to me.

    Thanks for the detailed info – and yes, it is a bug.
    I have a DEV version that already has a fix in it, if you would like to try it:

    The fix will be in the next revision in a few days, so if you decide to use this one, you will be able to upgrade when notified and it will not revert back to the trailing slash issue. This fix still does add the trailing and beginning slashes in the admin when added, but it checks for slashes or no slashes before it redirects, which solves the issue you experienced.

    Please let me know if you have any additional problems.

    I appreciate the quick response — for now, I’ll stay at 3.2.3 because all I use is quick redirects, and there aren’t any 4.x features that I know of that I need.
