latest update footer on twenty ten theme

  • I started working on the twenty ten theme. Nice stuff. There was an update tonight so I installed it. (no i didn’t back anything up) Now the first/second/third/fourth footers won’t sit together as they should they are on top of each other. Is this a bug as it’s the generic theme.

    Also, I have ghostry installed and it’s showing google analytics but I haven’t installed it. Any ideas there? It’s freaking me out.

  • Don’t edit the Twenty Ten theme. Your changes will be over-written the next time you upgrade WordPress. For this reason, it is recommended that you consider creating a child theme for your customisations. Once your child theme is active, we should be able to help with the customisation.

    Ok, only problem is that the client needed the website in 8 hours. Having worked with wordpress cms and having a very basic knowledge of php and html and his requirements of a very basic site, I chose just to mod that theme and it has already been installed/deleivered.

    Is it possible to just mod certain parts of the style sheet etc to a different name so it won’t be overwritten ?
