After installing the latest update, the “all posts” and “all pages” window in my dashboard is messed up. The titles are all ran in vertical text. Please fix. This is major!

  • Sorry to hear you are running into this issue. Thank you for reporting this. It looks like a conflict with another plugin and too many columns. Try deactivating the Custom Sidebars column and recheck. Let us know if this resolves the issue.

To he best of my knowledge it is not another plugin that’s causing the issue. It is the latest update. I rolled it back to the previous version and it is fine.

It looks like there is a lapse of coverage in my google analytics also during the time I had the issues. May be related may not be.

Let us know. We are having a difficult time replicating the issue. I have had several team members test in different environments.

I am seeing the same symptoms reported by shootingtime. Actually you are both correct. It is a matter of either too many columns used and/or too wide of space allocated by those columns. And “Yoast SEO” (which I can see from shootingtime’s screen print) adds two columns by default.
However, when I “rollback” from the latest version (3.0.5) to the previous version (3.0.4), the problem goes away, as shootingtime reports. (I used a plugin called “WP Rollback” to do that rollback.) So apparently version 3.0.5 allocates more space to its own column than previous versions of “Custom Sidebars”, and hence triggers this weird behavior much more readily.
And to answer jdailey’s question, yes, disabling any column including the “Custom Sidebar” column also eliminates the weird behavior.

@d5f7p9 thank you for the follow-up information. We will set a better space restriction for the column in the next version. Very helpful.

    jdaily, thank you very much.
When you say “in the next version”, I am hoping that means an update in a few days to address this issue. If it doesn’t, I am left with 2 alternatives.
    1. Continue using 3.0.4 and and explaining to the other 8 admin’s of my site why we are not using the latest version and for none of them to try to update.
    2. Explaining to those 8 admin’s how to turn off columns in the screen options area at the top of the page and post lists.

Also, I would think you would want to get rid of this issue as soon as possible to avoid losing customers.

Thank you for the feedback and patience. An update with this patch has been released.
