  • Becky, I followed the beta installation instructions, but the version listed in WordPress remains 1.9.13. I double checked I downloaded the Beta and transferred the correct files. Should it change to 2.0.02?

Had the same problem. Uploaded previous version of Nextgen gallery 1.9.13 and all is well with WP 3.6

Apparently the last Nextgen Gallery 2.0 isn’t compatible with the latest WP upgrade.

    Becky,

I installed the latest NextGen Beta per the instructions given at the link you supplied. The Beta does display as NextGen 2.0.2 in the plugin section of the WP dashboard. Still the albums do not display properly and when clicked on, they do not open to display the images inside of the albums. I do have MapPress Easy Google Maps installed. When I deactivate MapPress, NextGen is still broken with regard to the albums. I am using legacy shortcodes to insert my albums. I hope this helps.

I’m building a new WordPress site (3.6.1), for which I installed NextGen 2.0.3. Upon trying to upload images for the first gallery, the site was rendered completely inaccessible – either when trying to access the frontend or wp-admin pages, I only end up with the message

    Bad Request

Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand.
Size of a request header field exceeds server limit.
    Cookie
    /n

Does that mean it’s dead and I have to start all over again?

Resolved the problem by removing the plugin, manually editing the database and resetting the cookies. Reinstalled the plugin, tried the other method to make a gallery (import folder) – it just gives the message “Importing folder” and doesn’t do anything at all. Bottom line – Nextgen 2.0.3 simply doesn’t work in WordPress 3.6.1. Guess I’ll have to install the good old 1.9.13…

The current NextGEN version is 2.0.30 (thirty not three is the last digit in the current version) and 2.0.30 does work on WordPress 3.6.1.

Originally I had problems when I upgraded from 1.9.13 but I was using legacy shortcodes to display albums. Since I upgraded to the new NextGEN shortcodes, I have had no further problems.

How do I go back to version 1.9.13?

Scroll down a little after clicking the following link.

    Good luck.
