With the latest update (to 1.7), a conflict developed with the two slider plugins I use on my home page to display different types of content: TouchCarousel (which showed the images, but stopped sliding, and lost the manual controls) and SmoothSlider (which stopped displaying altogether). I have Easy FancyBox currently disabled (because the links still open on a new tab, even though the nice :litebox: funtionality is lost … and I can’t lose the slider capability.

Any idea what might be causing the new conflict? And how it can be fixed?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi Mark, I really cannot say why it is happening without seeing it live. I tested the SmoothSlider in combination with Easy FancyBox but cannot reproduce any issues with the two. It’s possible that SmoothSlider is just breaking because if a (primary) conflict with TouchCarousel but I do not have that plugin to test with.

Is there any possibility for you to try to enable Easy FancyBox 1.7 and SmoothSlider at the same time but disable TouchCarousel for a minute to see if SmoothSlider starts working again? If it does, the main conflict lies with TouchCarousel…

I did as you asked. Deactivating Touch Carousel does not fix the problem. Both sliders work fine without the new version of Easy Fancybox. (plus it was working fine until the latest update).

I left ALL the plugins activated so you can see what’s happening (as you asked in a direct email) … Please let me know when you have looked at things so I can disable Fancybox again so the site will work.

It seems that you are using another plugin called Fancy-Box and you are now loading two (incompatible) versions of the fancybox script twice on your site. Please disable Fancy-Box or disable Easy FancyBox, they are not meant to run at the same time, trying to do the same thing.

That solved it. THANKS!!! (That other plug-in was deprecated, and I didn’t see any conflict until the latest update … but it’s deleted now, so the site it working fine. Much appreciated!)
