    Hi,

Our client is concerned that new Reviews are not being reflected on the website.

The Update Frequency is set to Sync Hourly.

I’m struggling to find documentation for this plugin so I can’t figure out why new Reviews are not being imported into the website. The Google API and Place ID are set correctly and used to pull in Reviews originally. The Google account has billing set up.

Can you point me in the right direction to understand why new Reviews are not being imported to the site?

    Thanks!

    -Bill

@airportjule There are a number of things to check if you’re not seeing the reviews you’re expecting:

    • Firstly, check the Retrieved Data to check the reviews here are current. If you’ve set to collect just relevant reviews, this will be reflected here as relevant and newest are not the same.
    • In the main Setup tab, check the collection of reviews is either Newest or Both new and relevant.
    • Check the default filters to see if there are any restrictions that could impact on what new reviews may appear. You can see the changes reflected live.
    • Set the sorting as New to Old (if that hasn’t been set).

Please share your Place ID or a URL if you’d like me to look more into this.

Same issue here, also I have an error message on the settings page: “Your Google API Key is not valid for this request and permission is denied.”

(I’m already trying with a new API Key).

    My API Key is: xxx
    Place ID: ChIJQfrApSv324AR6nk3qN6p0W8

@ogdiez10 This sounds like a different cause. Please check your billing account is setup and the Places API is set for the restricted API.

Also, I strongly recommend deleting your API Key from your forum post. Never share this publicly.

    Thank you.

    Thank you @designextreme.

I had Review Retrieval set to “relevant only.” I’ve updated this to “both new and relevant” and hopefully that does the trick.

“Check the default filters to see if there are any restrictions that could impact on what new reviews may appear. You can see the changes reflected live.”

It’s not clear where I find filters. I searched for “filter” on all plugin settings tab in the admin back end and didn’t find any filters.

@airportjule Thanks for getting back to me. It sounds like you found the correct setting – the other points were covering eventualities if this was already set.

The filters are probably fine – it’s just what you see at the top section of the Setup tab.

    Oh I understand filters now.

Confirmed, the Reviews are now updating as expected. Thank you!
