After the latest update (to version 6.0.8), we lost access to the frontend of our site, with the error message “[an error occurred while processing this directive]” which hints at a problem with the .htaccess file.

I opened the file via FTP, and it contained only the section generated from this plugin, and everything else that’s normally there was gone.
I disabled the plugin (the WordPress control panel was still accessible) and restored the .htaccess file from yesterday, and now the site works again.

So it seems like the update deleted all the existing content of out .htaccess file somehow.

It may be worth noting, that the settings page for the plugin also didn’t load properly after the update.

    Hi @clb92,

Sorry for the issues while updating!

In previous 6.x versions there was a conflict with another plugin that could cause this. We haven’t been able to reproduce the issue yet, but have made some changes to avoid this. Since 6.0.7 users have reported that the issue is resolved. What was the previous version you were on?

If there is still an issue with the settings page, can you share a screenshot of the browser console? It might show what the issue is.

If you have any further info on the not loading settings page, I can look into that, although I suspect the cause was also the .htaccess there. Thanks for reporting your issue, and let me know if I can help with anything else.

I just immediately deactivated the plugin and restored .htaccess, as I didn’t have time to do any debugging.

But after reactivating the plugin later, we haven’t had further problems, and the settings page works fine.
