Latest Posts Technical Speech

    Back again with issues on that theme. I know I should write my own but I can’t, I lack the basic knowledge to do that.
    Anyway, I want something very simple: list my lastest posts on my homepage.
    My website is an aggregator with more than 2500 posts and counting.

    I always get the “popular posts” displayed though I never asked for it…And the requested number of recent posts is NOT displayed correctly..And the display is whacky.
    So my question is simple in which file is it that those functions are called and how do I remove them?

    I just want to display my latest posts in 3 colummns but that’s yet another story I guess:-)

    I have located the Popular posts plugin it’s in function.php

    Whenever I remove it I get this

    I have managed to get the recent posts oonly but the display is not right.
    What should I change to make it right? The space between summaries is huge. https://ace.dpwatch.com
    How to I make it 3 columns and how do I set the number of lines displayed and where?
