“Latest Past Events” shows OLDEST past events

    Since the update to TEC 6.7.1 if there are no upcoming events then the calendar page shows the OLDEST past three events under “Latest Past Events” rather than the most recent past events.

    In my example link, the 2024 event does not show as it should.

    From other threads where users pointed out this issue I can see it was given Internal Bug Ticket Reference: TECTRIA-491.

    This issue was not resolved with the latest update TEC 6.8.0

  • I am having the same exact issue, oddly TEC 6.7.1 includes a change called “Fix – Ensure Latest Past Events appear properly in Category views [TEC-4991]” so this is likely the regression that caused this in my layman’s opinion.

    Thanks for your updates. Yes, the TECTRIA-491 bug ticket is still in progress. Although I can’t give an exact date, it’s very likely that it will be fixed soon in the next plugin release. We will let you know on this thread.

    We are having the exact same problem. Updating to 6.8 did not solve the problem. Rollback to 6.71 did not solve the problem. So, we rollbacked to 6.70 which did solved the problem and will stay there until you issue a fix. We cannot have our visitors seeing events from 2011 as the latest past events. They need to see what our 2024 past events are. SOooooooo, here’s hoping you create a FIX really SOON.

    @socalhb?, yes, rolling back to 6.71 will not help as that is the very update the bug was introduced in. Rollback (if that’s an acceptable solution) would have to be to 6.70 as you found.

    I am glad to see that someone agrees that this is a serious bug which should have been fixed urgently i.e. in 6.8, but wasn’t. Other people have marked threads about this issue “Resolved” merely because a bug report has been made and named. I will not mark this thread “Resolved” until an update is pushed that fixes this serious issue.

    Sorry for the confusion. This bug, showing oldest events in the Past Events event, is a different one from the issue about past events displaying in different categories, that was fixed in the 6.7.1. The fix for the current issue is still in progress. We will notify here when the solution is ready.

    Just tried the 6.8.1 update and the issue appears to be fixed: when there are no current evens,t the latest past events are showing in descending order with the most recent being first. YES! Thank you one and all. Much appreciated.
