Hello, I have a problem when trying to compress images. I am trying on several images to compress but occurs: Latest error: Error while connecting: (#7)
The images are not compressed but compression count is increasing. Can you help me on that?
    Thank you in advance.

Hi Manos, I checked the logs and can see requests that indicate your installation is posting images for compression, but not managing to retrieve them as there are no GET requests.

I also see your usage count is now 3 compressions, but there have been many similar requests in the same time-frame and these duplicate requests are not counted.

There may be something that stops your server from getting the information back but it is only possible to debug on your end or inspecting your server logs.

Hello, I checked server logs but I didn’t find something significant. Can I send you part of the logs to have a look?

Hello Manos, yes of course you can contact through [email protected] so we can try and have a look if that gives any signs of the problem.

I’ve got a similar problem, most of my images are not compressed (0% saving – screenshot) and after some time my site is crashing completely when running the bulk optimization. Via Plesk logs I can see the following errors:

AH01067: Failed to read FastCGI header, referer: xxxxx/wp-admin/upload.php?page=tiny-bulk-optimization

(70007)The timeout specified has expired: AH01075: Error dispatching request to : (polling), referer: xxxxx/wp-admin/upload.php?page=tiny-bulk-optimization

Any idea how to solve this?

My site currently uses a htaccess protection because it’s under development, but some of the images are compressed, so it doesn’t seem to be the reason for this problem…?

Hi Mattce, the 0% saving maybe happening when the images cannot be further optimised. To find out more about the compression of a particular image you can go to Media Library and then list view to see the link to a “Details” popup which explains the status of an image and its image sizes in detail.

The timeout issue could be happening for different reasons. Maybe for some images the time it takes to optimise is longer than the maximum execution time of your server. But it can be a multiple of reasons.

In the end I think bulk optimization should optimize everything unless images are corrupt or there are file write permission errors.

Are you getting the total number of uncompressed images down?
