latest elementor update broke my website
-
when i update Elementor from version 3.24.7 to the latest – 3.26.4 , even though it says its 100% compatible with my wordpress version 6.7.1, once i update elementor, my site was not working saying: “There has been a critical error on this website.”
and i am forced to rollback to previous version.
please fix this as there are some bugs i am encountering in Elementor (e.g. incorrect colour being displayed on front end)

Hi there,
Thanks for contacting us and hope you are doing well and having a great day.
To rule out the possibility of a plugin or theme conflict, please deactivate all your plugins (besides Elementor). If it solves the issue reactivate them one by one to find the culprit. If it didn’t help, switch your theme (temporarily) to a default WP theme such as Twenty Nineteen and see if it makes any difference.
Also, this could happen due to our Elementor performance experiments you can try to deactivate them. To deactivate them you can go to Elementor > settings > features
Performance features currently in the experimental stage are:
- Element Caching – Elements caching reduces loading times by serving up a copy of an element instead of rendering it fresh every time the page is loaded. When active, Elementor will determine which elements can benefit from static loading – but you can override this.
- Inline Font Icons?– This experiment renders icons as SVGs without loading the Font-Awesome and eicons libraries. Since SVGs are vector-based images which are rendered using the browser’s engine, they do not increase server requests which improves performance
I am looking forward to hearing back from you soon.
Kind regards,
hi, thanks for your reply.
I tried to disable both the performance features and deactivate every plugin (except elementor) however it did not solve the issue.
the issue i’m having is the font colour on 2 pages appears in a light yellow – and that light yellow colour is not selected in the ‘colours’ tab in the theme options. it was not yellow before. it was white. i did not change it to yellow.
please fix.
also to confirm – i have tried this again with the latest Elementor version (3.27.0) and the same critical error appears.
i need this fixed asap as the formatting is not correct in the front end
Hello there,
Thank you for your patience!
Could you provide us with more details about your issue? Also, can you please provide us with a screencast demonstrating the issue?
Also can you please share you site URL?
This will be useful to us as we will better understand the issue you’re experiencing and provide you with better support.
I am looking forward to your reply!
Kind Regards,
Hi
ISSUE 1
so the first issue is when i update the Elementor pluging, my website does not work and shows a critical error.
Screenshot: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/ut53vgei1ob8ovnhl3peg/elementor-issue-1.png?rlkey=3fqs1mz69728re3wo2w1eojfy&st=fwfpa1sp&dl=0I also cannot edit certain pages using elementor and receive this error:
https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/87zd5bbwpu4gpjw5txvao/elementor-issue-2.png?rlkey=ya1zgkg6gmsm5yi6s38p19shy&st=enr7ooy8&dl=0I have tried disabling all the and i have tried disabling all the other plugins but i get the same critical error so i have reverted back to the previous version of the plugin.
ISSUE 2
The second issue is the colour of the text on certain pages. However its somehow fixed itself overnight??
Yesterday – The text circled on the 3 screenshots below were appearing in light yellow (which was hardly readable) even though there was no light yellow in the colour options. I dont know how but when i logged in today it is now correct.https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/7wxa47vmlhgxgrtbe0zxj/elementor-issue-contacts.png?rlkey=w2her84uphpl3msc6lfdttt2c&st=7q38l2k7&dl=0

My website: https://inviewx.au
i now have ANOTHER issue. i have an essential grid in 3 of my pages. they now no longer work – they used to work but now they appear like this in the screenshot:
i am not sure if this is related to the issue where i cannot update elementor?
i really need this fixed urgently
Hi there,
I check your site it seems that you have some caching issue on your side.
I suggest following this method one by one by on focusing on method 2:
Method 1: This can easily be fixed by going to WP admin > Elementor > Tools > Regenerate CSS.
Method 2: Please make sure that you clear all forms of cache including your browser cache, your WP cache (your WP caching plugin if you have one), and your server cache (In this case, you can contact your hosting provider for help to clear the server cache).
Method 3: Clear Browser cache or check the site in a private/incognito window.
Looking forward hearing from you.
Kind regards,
Hi
I have performed the following:- tried to update the elementor plug to the laterst one (noting there is a new update) – still providing a critical error so had to rollback to previous version
- cleared my brower cache – same issue
- cleared site cache througth cache plugin – same issue
- checked site incognito – same issue
so the current 2 main issues are:
- cannot update the elementor plugin
- the portfolio pages do not work (screenshot: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/8zwrdpjb3yxcvuibqbz8q/essential-grid-issue.png?rlkey=evk73bard6dqiz71xmpa2qrv3&st=5je9ipj0&dl=0 ).
The only way i can display my portfolio is to manually copy & paste the shortcode. However if i add the ‘essential grid plugin’ (which was used as the defaulty on the demo pages) then it does not work. The essential grid plugins is up to date
as i mentioned, these issues started happening all of a sudden – i did NOT make any changes to the site for these issues to occur
i can see other support tickets with the same issue so clearly this is an issue from your end which needs to be fixed URGENTLY. thanks.
Hi there,
Thank you for contacting us again.
Hi, we highly recommend that you report this issue to the essential grid plugin’s support team so they may further troubleshoot and provide any recommendation (or possible fix) to resolve it.
Should they need any help from us, they can open an issue on our Github account and our developers will be happy to assist. https://github.com/elementor/elementor/issues
For reference: What do we Support?
Kind regards,
I have already spoken to them and they said as it is part of the theme that i should speak to you. i have forwarded them your message and asked them to raise a ticket with you.
however, i believe the main issue to be resolved is the fact that i cannot update the elementor plug in – and that should be the priority because that could be the cause of this issue or further issues down the track – and as i have noticed others raising similar issues- this is an issue from your end that shoudl be fixed urgently. i have tried all your troubleshooting steps and i still cannot update the elementor plugin without crashing my site.
i would like this issue resolved asap please
thanks
Hi
For the update issue
Can you give this a try.- Create a backup of the site
- Delete Default Kit from the Templates > Saved Templates
- Recreate a new Kit in the Elementor > Tools
- See if that fixes the update issue and you are no longer seeing the critical error.
Regarding the third-party theme conflict, if the issue gets resolved with Hello Elementor theme then note that there is some incompatibility and due to that the problem is occurring.
Providing support for third-party plugins or themes is outside our scope of support as it is not within our control.
