• Hi,

Great plugin and I really love it. I have never had any issues in the past but something happened with latest update. It doesn’t email code automatically anymore after I enter username and password.
    1. if using FF 57 I can login by requesting a new code to be sent out
    2. I can’t login using Chrome 63 even if I request a new code. It just keeps in loop always issuing a new code after I enter it.
OTP seems to be working fine. Just email based auth is having troubles.

Thanks for your help. I hope it’s an easy fix.

    Thanks for reporting the issue!

Indeed, the latest updated introduced the “Resend Code” feature. However, it should still be sending the email code automatically. I’ll look into this.

Tested the plugin with a fresh sites on a multisite network and everything is working correctly. I’m unable to replicate the issue.

Does this happen on every login or just the first time after you updated the plugin?

OK. If that’s the case than let me please test it on another website. I think this current WP website I have may have some strange issues with plugins. I will do some more testing and will let you know. Thank you for your help.

I can replicate on 2 sites. I am using Linux OS with FF 57 and Chromium 63. Not sure how much it affects the plugin behavior but now my both websites don’t work after getting updated to latest version.
No matter which browser I use I don’t get code emailed automatically and after requesting and submitting new code I get same login screen and new code by email and it keeps going in the loop. Please let me know if there is anything I can help with.

Are you able to log in? Or does it send you back to the two factor code entry page? If so, does it display any error messages?

I can’t login with username which is using email auth. I can login with other user using OTP. It loops within same code entry page and I can’t see any errors. I will try to debug on a copy.
Latest 14th update didn’t help either. Same issue.
All was working fine for the past 6 months until 20171206 version update.

Hi Kaspars. I tried to disable all plugins and change to WP default theme with no luck. I then decided to downgrade back to previous 20171021 and it’s not working too. At this point most likely it’s a js issue I guess? Do you have any suggestions how to proceed forward?
    Thanks,

Unfortunately I don’t have any suggestions. The latest release should have fixed the issue with code emails not being sent.

Are the code emails being delivered?

Is the website hosted on WPEngine? They have some kind of protection in place which prevents the plugin from working.

Thanks Kaspars. I think we are getting closer to finding the culprit.
Let me give you overall details of a website:

6 months ago I have created a website with 2 users: user A as Administrator and user B as customer. I have installed your plugin and set up user A to use email auth option and all was working perfect until 20171206 update.
Since then user A couldn’t login and I never tried user B as it was rarely used.

In a try to to get it working back I have reverted back to 20171021 version and user A still can’t login.

I then tested user B and all is fine. I then switched its role from Customer to Administrator and login works fine.

So I am baffled of what’s going on. I have to users with identical Administrator roles and one is working while another doesn’t.
User A email is [email protected]
User B email is [email protected]

That’s the only difference I can see with obviously different user names

    Any idea?

    Thanks a lot.
