    I did try to update Wordfence and it ended up with error: “Update Failed: Plugin update failed.”

    Now cannot update any other plugin or theme on my site. Great! Many Thanks ??

    It is not likely that this is something Wordfence has caused. Wordfence does not in any way interact with the update procedure of other plugins. It sounds like your site is having problems updating plugins in general. There can be several different reasons why this is happening

    1. Your site may be out of disk space
    2. Your site may have problems connecting to WordPress repository
    3. Your site could be running out of PHP resources

    You could try deleting any large files you have on your server. That would help in case you are running out of disk space. You can also try deactivating some plugins. That could help if you are running out of PHP resources. If neither of those work I would recommend that you reach out to your web host for assistance.

    Negative.

    How you explain this: after a while update of plugins work (show Update button) again. Any other plugins (even bigger) update correctly without problem, but Wordfence is the only one with this particular problem.

    Thanks for elaborating! I was under the impression that all your plugins were affected. If it’s only wordfence, then please use FTP/SSH or any file browser your web host may be providing and try deleting the wordfence folder in wp-content/plugins. Then install Wordfence again. Hopefully that resolves the issue.

    If updates were not working for a limited time but then started working again, that would indicate your server was having temporary problems connecting to the WordPress repository.
