The most recent update caused all my start and end times to be displayed +4hrs. So an event starting at 6pm is now showing starts at 10pm.

    WordPress 4.2.4
    GCal Events Version 2.2.8

Already tried clearing the cache and “Always Enqueue Scripts & Styles” in enabled (tried it both ways, turning it off makes things WAY worse).

Had this problem before how it’s a quick fix again.

See it on this page, lower right.

Looks like it might be showing UTC? I’m EST (currently -4).

    Hi Rob,

we did some change in how timezones are handled, also to counter the problems some folks had with timezones, like you mention

but it has nothing to do with scripts and styles

first, check what is your timezone setting in your Google Calendar application settings; then the timezone setting of the calendar you want to bring over WordPress – make sure these are right for you (if the calendar has unspecified timezone, it will use your Google Calendar account default one)

now, for that particular calendar feed you want to import in WordPress, if you edit the feed, you will notice a new setting, for the Timezone. You have now the option of using the calendar default timezone or convert the timezone to your WordPress site own timezone.

Before, all calendars used to be converted to WordPress site timezone, causing much headscrach.

You can decide how to handle each calendar feed you import in WordPress. This setting should also prompt some attention in checking that the calendar on Google has the right timezone.

We could improve this further, so please let me have your feedback and let me know if you have been able to fix the issue.

My general Google Calendar app settings and the specific calendar settings are both set to GMT -4 Eastern Time as is my WordPress site.

    Please advise.

What happens by switching between ‘use calendar’ / ‘use wordpress site’ setting in the feed settings panel edit screen?

That’s fixed it, thanks for your help!

You’re welcome – likely the new setting kicking in – sorry if this confused you but we are trying to make the timezone setting more transparent

may I know if you used the calendar default timezone or the site default one?

Oops sry, changing it FROM calendar default TO the WordPress timezone fixed it.
