large static site converted into wordpress

I am a amateur genealogist and recently came across a software program that will create all my research into .html files. The problem is that the software creates a lot of html pages (1500+). It will also export my data into xml though I am not sure what to do with it, but I have it as an option. My question is what is the best way to handle this with WordPress. I am currently trying to edit the source code of the program to some how add the php header and footer into the html generator. The source code is in python which I am not familiar with so its more of trial and error at this point.
Can anyone suggest an easier way on what I can do?
