• I run a wordpress site with a large number of posts – presently 126,000 posts.

It runs well, but the eventual target will be as many as 500k posts.

The posts themselves are straight text. I have avoided the use of custom fields to avoid multiplying up database calls.

I have abandoned the wordpress search, and fin that Google does quite a good job.
    Everything is cached.
I like wordpress, and am impressed that it has got me so far, but I have to be confident that it will cope as the number of posts continues to grow.

    Any guidance / suggestions?

    (see swarb.co.uk if interested)

  • You should be fine. I currently run three different Multisite installations and the largest has 39K sites, and 260K users.

It’s so large that I cannot currently get an accurate count of posts and comments ??
