Large problem – member registration and failed upgrade
-
I am having problems configuring registration on my sites using the WP-Members plug-in. After several attempts, I decided to uninstall the plug-in and my troubles worsened. The plug-in is now not functioning. Next, I tried to reinstall WP 3.3 but, the reinstall never completes. The 3.3 reinstall gets to the point of upgrading the database and stalls. The following is provided as background on my overall site configuration.
I am hosting a multisite installation on a QNAP RAID unit, running WP 3.3. I have a total of three domain names registered. One is for blog site that I hope to advertise in the near future. The second site is currently for personal use to exchange data with family members around the country.
The domains are registered through godaddy.com and I have them set up to forward with masking so that I can host all of the content as directories under the third domain with a registered static IP. I have set up WP 3.3 as a multisite implementation. While the overall DNS configuration seems to be working, I have not been able to get member registration working. That is why I was trying to use the WP-Members.
So at this point, I am kinda stuck. The site is down, the upgrade does not complete, and I cannot get member registration to work on my WP 3.3 multisite implementation. I look forward to any advise you can provide and thank you.
