• I have been having some trouble in my backend where page load times are very slow, 7-9 seconds. Am trying to figure out the cause. Could page tree view have anything to do with it? My host suggested that having so many pages in directories could slow backend page load times.

They suggested using posts. However when I tried page tree view for posts, it did not create directories. So:

    1. Are there any known issues with having a large number of pages in page tree view?
    2. Is it possible to organize posts in directories?

Anyone know anything about this issue? Thanks.

I have a site with over 8800 active pages, and the Tree View plugin does not affect load times one bit. What I found can be serious performance issues, are other plugins that seem nice because they help manage automatic creation of menus by including sub-pages, or plugins that need to get page parents to do something. These tend to put huge loads on sites with a large number of pages. Try disabling other plugins one at a time until you find the real culprit. That’s what I had to do.
