• Guys, I sell digital downloads. Most of the files are under 1Gb, but some are as large as 1.7Gb.

At the moment I am using X-Accel-Redirect/X-Sendfile to serve the downloads. Sometimes I get a LOT of users downloading and that causes some downloads to be interrupted halfway or two thirds through. Naturally I then deal with angry and frustrated clients!

I used to use Open Cart before which has the same problem until I installed a module called Max Download which did the following.

Complete solution for large downloads and downloads at external servers:
    – let customers download your files of any size (more then 4Gb)
    – let customers use download managers and resume download
    – MultiUpload with resume of interrupted uploads
    – Direct http links to another servers supported
    – Mail download links along with order info
    – stay 100% secure

This module solved my issue with Multiple Downloads. Users could download like crazy. All that happen was that the download will slow down the more users logged on.

Is there something similar for Woo Commerce?

If someone as a different solution for me, then I will really like hearing from you!

Could look at hosting your files offsite with a dedicated filehosting solution. I’m aware of the following plugin although there’s likely others out there as well (e.g. Dropbox)

    Riaan,

I am looking at Amazon S3 now. I tried a few cloud solutions, but the problem is that they are not secure. The links to the files can be copied by anyone smart enough and that bothers me a bit.

    Thanks for the reply!
