    Hello,

i have a strange problem with language switching here:
    https://www.happycake.com/new/

For some reason when i open the website in Mozilla it constantly displays Japanese version. When i click on US flag it still goes to Japanese version.

This issue doesn’t occur in Chrome. There everything works normal.

Is there some chance that the WordPress system memorized something so it displays Japanese version or it’s maybe a browser specific problem?

    Thank you,

    Veljko

If I visit your site, English/US is the standard language right?
    yoursite.com/new/

When I click on the Japanese flag I get yoursite.com/new/ja/ this seems correct. I use Firefox.

Delete cache and cookies to access the website clean.

I have the same issue, as do many others, get used to it – its “by design” even if the design maybe slightly flawed in certain instances.

You can temporarily fix the issue by clearing your browser cookies and maybe cache or install ccleaner (windows program) and it will do it for you.

    Also see here:

You may also notice that with the following options active:
    – Use Pre-Path Mode (Default, puts /en/ in front of URL). SEO friendly.
    – Hide URL language information for default language.

The following is displayed even if EN is your “hidden default language”

    <link hreflang=”en” href=”https://www.yoursite.com/en/&#8221; rel=”alternate” />

    and

backend editor permalink on posts/pages edit page, shows URL with /en/ even with hidden activated

It seems that cache cleaning did the job. Is this a common issue or not?

    Of course not.
Choose between the different languages must be possible with the Language Switcher.
