• Hi,

I’m working on a website (mithiinicottages.com). I use Page Builder by SiteOrigin. Default language is English. I want also a page in Dutch (Nederlands).

I installed qTranslate-X. Default language is English. Added Dutch. Looking good.

When I work on the page, I see tabs for [English] and [Nederlands]. So far, so good. Under the [English] tab, I have entered the text in English. Still looking good. After finishing the English version, I click on tab [Nederlands], where I find all the same text in English and I start translating into Dutch. I save and update: now the only text shown is in Dutch. I check the [English] tab: the text is now all in Dutch.

When I look at the menu [Pages], it told me at first under [Languages] “Languages are not set”. I activated the Language Chooser in the menu. Now it tells me “English, Unknown Language (Not enabled)”. When I look in the menu [Settings] under [Languages], “Nederlands” is clearly selected and activated.

I’m at a loss here; how do I make this work??

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Theo

Never mind, folks. I’ve managed to solve the issue, although I have no idea how I did that.

    Hello,

I’m facing the same issue like yours. When I save post, only English content can be saved and text in my default Language disappeared. do you solve this issue?

    Hi,

Same problem here, this feature used to work for me but now any change in any language affects the other language text fields…

I have not been able to fix this problem, but a temporary solution is to change the settings of the plugin so it is possible to change the way to enter the text in all the languages:

    Settings > Languages > Advanced >
Under “Editor Mode” switch from “Use Language Switching Buttons (LSB)” to “Editor Raw Mode”.

Instead of having two tabs (for two languages) in the page editor, you will have only one page and you will have to enter the text in the field as:
    [:en]Homepage[:fr]Page d’accueil
    (for English/French translation)

This method is working for me…

I hope it helps until a solution is found to this problem!!
