Language Translation

I am working on Spanish translations, I already did some changes to the cup_cp file but they won’t show.
Am I missing some steps? What I did was to:
Replace english text with spanish, since changed did not show, I tried entering the translation in msgstr “”
Did not work either.PLs advise,
