Language switcher redirecting to Home page inevitably

  • Hello, when I’m on a given page (not homepage) and that page HAS its translated counterpart published and ready, when I click on the widget language switcher, it does switches the website to the secondary language, but it redirects me to the homepage, ignoring that I was on that first page and that in fact it has a page version for the secondary language. What is going on? and how to fix it please?

    I can’t post the url since it’s on development (localhost) but here are some screenshots:

    as you can see, the url for the italian flag is directing to the homepage (/it) whereas it should be directing to /it/pagina-di-esempio (sample page italian version), but it’s not.

  • I am experiencing the same on https://www.venetiansteps.com/contact/ (which is in the default language). Clicking on the Language switcher brings you to the English home page.
    This happens with all the pages.
    I wonder if this is normal Polylang behaviour or some setting.

    Have you found a solution yet, Oguido?
