Latest versions of WordPress, theme and polylang. Clean install without any other plugins installed or activated.

Polylang works fine with twenty-sixteen theme, but when I activate Story the language switcher only redirects to whatever page is listed as front-page. And then switches between the translations of that page.

By printing the array with pll_the_languages(array(‘raw’=>1)) before the header I can see that the function can find a translation with the twenty-sixteen active. But it fails to find it with the Story theme active [no_translation] => 1.

Theme support advised to inform here for a solution.

It was a local install, but I have set up a live copy for you.

story.wk2017.nl

This install has the same language switcher problem. Works with twenty sixteen theme and does not work with story theme.

I would also give you a admin-login to switch the theme if you want. But I cannot provide you the login via this public forum. ??

You can also test and ask me to switch themes for you. If that is helpfull.

Could you check if your theme uses the pll_translation_url filter ?

I checked.
pll_translation_url filter is not used by the theme.

Hello, did you resolve this?
I have the exact same problem. I have used polylang successfully with 4 other themes, but suddenly with the theme Story by Pexeto it doesn’t work.

Yes, by buying wpml-plugin.
I never got an answer and lost my patience.

wpml works straight out of the box.

Just FYI, the Story guys solved the issue. It will be incorporated in the next update
