Hello! I have recently installed the Spectra block theme in WordPress 6.2 and I would like to know why I get an error when I add my language switcher to my template. Please see an example:?https://postimg.cc/XrntBVdk

The screenshot shows the error message I receive after adding the language switcher block to my header.

Would anyone have any helpful info on how I can resolve this?

I look forward to hearing from a community member.

    Thanks,

  • Hello,

From the screenshot you provided, it seems that there might be a compatibility issue between the language switcher and your theme or one of your plugins. To diagnose and resolve this, I recommend conducting a compatibility test by following these steps:

    1. Create a complete backup of your website, including the database, before proceeding. This will ensure you can restore your site in case of any issues.
    2. Disable all plugins except for TranslatePress (or the plugin you’re using for the language switcher). This will help identify if there’s a conflict with any of your plugins.
    3. Check your site to see if the issue with the language switcher has been resolved. If it’s working correctly, re-enable your plugins one by one, checking your site after each plugin activation to identify the one causing the issue.
    4. If the problem persists even after disabling all other plugins, switch to a default WordPress theme, such as Twenty Twenty or Twenty Twenty-One, and test the language switcher again. This will help determine if the issue is related to your Spectra block theme.

By following these steps, you should be able to identify the cause of the error and take appropriate action. also, please let us know too, we would like to get to the bottom of this!

Hi there @sdenis, thank you for checking in. I have disabled all of my plugins temporarily and cleared my cache. Currently, the only plugins that are active are the Spectra Block theme and TranslatePress. Despite this, I am still experiencing the same error as before. Please take a look at this example.

I noticed that in the TranslatePress settings, there is an option for language switchers. When I click on the link that is highlighted in the screenshot, another notification pops up. Here’s a look: https://postimg.cc/1gn5J5T4

This appears after I click the “appearance ->menus” link

Does my theme not offer multilingual support?

Let me know what you think.

    Thanks,
